I made up the outer vent plate bits yesterday. Wanted to tig them but too wet out. Im tempted to silver braze as Im not sure how successful I will be tig 0.5mm stainless. Mesh is bent at 45 degrees to reduce air resistance.

I'd gas braze them personally.

No.2 daughter has a VEGAN friend to stay! As I'd bought No.2 a non-vegan, decorate your own, gingerbread pumpkin kit, I felt a bit guilty her mate couldn't eat them.

So a quick print off Thingiverse later, for tomorrow I bake!

Seems they tasted fine. The kid's had a rough few years so you do what you can!

I've also cleared up the multiple, sticky bowl mess they made with their own home baking attempts last night and again just now. FFS, apparently vinegar is a substitute for an egg?

The concept of "washing up" or even loading the dishwasher seems to elude my two.

I blame the parents.

I like those, I have only made a couple of acrylic pens myself. I am looking forward to getting my lathe back from storage and setting the woodshop back up

Only reason being getting the shadow gap even and making the frame stiff enough.

The metal stays are an after thought as I under estimated how floppy the plastic decking is.

More 3D printing. This is the Mk6 version. Citroen DS rear brake shoes have to be centred using a special tool. The peg fits in the hub centre, the middle hole over a wheel stud, the sliding knife edge touches the brake shoe. Keep adjusting the position of the shoes until the knife edge touches all the way round. I must be getting better at this DSM malarkey, I put my initials on it.

One of these bending things (whose name completely escapes me) which I've been meaning to knock up for years but have not until now.
Whilst doing it I also upgraded the breaker in my garage CU to a 16A type C, as welding it on full whack tripped the old type B.

My guess would be shaper bit mounted on the cross slide. 0.2mm would be easily achievable without putting too much stress into the headstock bearings.
And it would be quicker than milling them. Slot will be done in under a second. A fine slot like that would probably take a few seconds to mill with a V/chamfer cutter.

Wouldn't work on that kind of serration.
Although polygonal could do the straight groove on one side of the circle, it would obliterate it as the cutting edge passed back out the circle the circle at a different point.


You could achieve a similar pattern by knurling, but you'd struggle to get it consistent.
