Got a new to us fork truck yesterday, it was container spec, so no guard on the back of the carriage. Got asked to knock one up. We dont stock any mild steel, so made it from stainless.

If you get a tin of antique colour wax and apply a few coats it will come up a treat.
I do the first few coats with a 2" brush, working it well in, with a stippling action, then buffing with a cotton cloth.

Then a few more applied with a cloth and buffed up.

It is hard work, but worth it. Pallet wood, when sanded does come up well.

I might have been tempted to fit heatshrink sleeving over the turnbuckles just to minimise the agricultural look.

Slot,groove in the landscape,miniature valley,usually frequented by a fast flowing brook,subject to surge floods that are very quick to respond,this one has a head of about 1000’ and swells to double its usual height within an hour,as happened Monday.

Fork caps were looking old after pulling the tubes out, good excuse to use a PCD insert.

Last week did not clean lathe. Found that veg oil really goes off quick and sticky when it is mixed with swarf. I need a new cutting oil!

In about 2 after you drop it down, supply the wax, the brush, the wax and the hard work.
