I refitted some parts back on my POS milling machine and made a couple of modifications so the quill readout is more consistent. I also made a bit of a mistake with fabricating the front cover, the hole saw drifted. Not to worry, the next one will be engraved and prettier to push the machine value up above £20.

I made 5 gallons of beer, it’s in the airing cupboard & just starting to bubble, nothing like Brewdexta’s, I cheated with a kit. The one I’ve made is a Festival kit, New Zealand pilsner, made it before it’s a really nice drink.

Added a bit of security to the garage door. It's a Hormann door, previously it just had the standard two point plastic locks that come with the door. I added a couple of pull out blocks with m6 bolts at the top two corners that fit in the track and jam against the rollers.

Added this today at the top middle and will add something bottom centre fixed into the concrete floor so it'll have something at all four corners and middle top and bottom.

Plate is 40x3mm flat with an m12 stud welded to it. Flip down bar is a 20x10mm flat bar.

No real idea how to slide the shed up them yet, with minimal facilities. But it’s a start.

Some sheet metal work. Old ones above the windows aren't installed good as you see on the lower.
Had to be a bit creative when cutting the panels.
Times like this I wish the track saw would die so I can get a cordless.

What's the English word for this kind of sheet metal work?

Sorry, showing you all a stool sample - again...

Last one was reassigned to living room duties so new one for workshop is a combined step and stool; three legged so it doesn't wobble on the undulating concrete and a wide stance for stability - smaller step as either a footrest when sitting wrong way round or step to get up. TIG welded 25mm box section 25mm wire brushed and finished with Owatrol (new and me likey; bought a wee sample tin for a fiver) and recycled iroko finished with Osmo hardwax oil for the step and top.

scaff poles as suggested , drive a rsj or similar in the garden, strap a 12 volt winch to it , large wide strop around front of shed..connect to winch , lift onto scaff poles(rollers) winch slowly into place. (hopefully) yes strap would need to be at base level of shed and might need to reinforce shed to prevent damage, maybe use a few scaff planks for strengthening shed

Bit of a slow one today, footling with the lathe, smokin' fags, found a small* (5") 4-jaw chuck at the back of a cupboard and an unused backplate - won't look pretty, backplate is a couple of inches bigger than the chuck but matches (pretty much) the spindle nose so machined it anyway... Blind threaded back on the chuck, so as I couldn't find mine (they're in that mess somewhere, I know it!), made some transfer screws to pop-mark and locate the Required Drilling - then discovered I don't have the right counterbore nor the right size endmill for a nice neat job
It may have to look scruffy.

Made quite a bit of cast-iron chips too, the backplate already had the wrong size (too small) spigot so had to machine that off before I even started...

We would probably call it cladding.

It is to go on the grave of a RAF dog handler
Had me in tears watching the plasma torch do its thing.
Strange how Big & Tough we think we are .
Then something simple seems to flick a switch .

If I had all the above equipment it would be a doddle, but we just moved house, half my stuff is stashed at my dads place, and inaccessible during these quarantine days.....

He is 85 and a little frail, so I may slip down there just to check up on him....and grab my ratchet winch, and some pipe, or whatever I can find.

The shed is chock full of hot rod and bike stuff, tools etc, but can be emptied in a half hour or so.

sounds like a plan, dad does need checking on at his age anyways , take care and stay safe

JD conditioner tines, 18 off. Cut, drilled and folded the flat bar, got a machinist to make the bushes, TIG tacked them in place.

To fit on this shaft:

Total expenditure - about 4 hours, minus the bushes, and £35 worth of flat bar.
To buy these would have cost £400!
