managed to sort out a tool to fit the lathe today so got a piece of stock down to the right size for making some needle holders for the needle gun up at the railway workshop,
not much i know but it was good to use the lathe again.

I wouldn't bother with those, they will fail, both of mine did.I improved some workzone callipers. My vertical slide DRO gave me some annoying wrist cuts from reaching past it, so cut the points off!

After grinding, I took one apart. The amount of dirt inside I think grinding actually cleaned it. The copper shim pinged off somewhere else. I retapped the stripped lock screw m4 for a grub screw and a new copper shim. Not decided where to drill tailstock body but made up a mount for the barrel.
Last week won some Sandvik 4mm parting inserts. I dont have a tool for them, plan to braze onto tube for deep trepaning cutters and grind clearance after brazing. This one will be 50mm
