Is that the model with the on off switch rather than a pull trigger? i had one that was a bit dangerous.

Unlike modern tools that require three double-jointed hands to operate - of course they're safe, nobody can get them switched on. Sorry, pet hate.

Nope it has the classic DeWalt style trigger
I think that every single tool can be dangerous
A 32mm combination spanner can be way more dangerous in my hands if intended to use it on someone who won't pay me for a job ,in this case you're angle grinder is safer.

Cnc, picked it up on Friday and got set up over the weekend, still experimenting and getting used to it at the moment

Been making galvanised sheets to fit to this shearing trailer (not made by me),the farmers I did the sheet metal for ,made the race,as they do contract shearing with 3 of them cutting at once ,between them doing 900 a day!

Today I made a sub frame for a demountable body to sit on,it’s for a camping body,he wanted 220 mm height ,so I used 230mm channel,a bit heavy though!

With help from an S5 and a V30.

Branch was cut with a draper plasma over the weekend by two colleagues. They done a pretty good job considering the piece of crap they had to work with.

Flange order was mucked up. PN16 instead of PN6 and half of the required amount. So I only had 6 8” PN10flanges to work with. And 12 6” flanges which was enough for the extensions with flap.

I welded up a number of the flanges with the S5 on TwinPulse, then went to speedpulse as it was a fair bit quicker.

They wanted all this finished today, but replacement flanges didn’t turn up till 12.

Once the flanges turned up, I started tacking them all up with a colleague, the spools were given to our resident old timer who welded them up with some bohler 316L-17 Rods.

Made a real nice job of them.

I’ve got 3 more to tack tomorrow plus three all ready to weld.

They’re crap compared to a stabila to be honest. You can’t see the bubble half as clearly.

Forklift starter hit itself today, pulled it apart and found the brushes were knobbed. Just by chance it used the same MT series brushes as some of the yank stuff I run.
Cleaned up and sorted within the hour

Done too much and really not enough
So this morning I've repaired the Makita you already seen up above.
Checked an Einhell Rotary hammer , not too much to doing with it because the tool holder is failed (wrong machining ) so unfuntional as drill but enough good for chieseling .
Then this evening went to my neighbor for two small projects but unfortunately my phone was charging so no pictures about
The first project was building an auger drill , my neighbor need it tomorrow to drill through the topsoil prior driving down poles .
So 48mm galvanized steel pipe 600mm long
And 20mm rebar 900mm long
Made a Chiesel point on the rebar , ground an hole in the centre of the pipe ,put together pipe and rebar and welded them up using 7018.
The other project was to straighten out a kind of ploughshare ,put together by my neighbor's friend .
In order to be capable to bend something like 40mm thick steel piece ,I cut through it leaving little bit of material (8mm)
Used the sledgehammer to straighten up it ,1 hit and it bend enough , another hit and the piece completely broken up .
After little bit of analysis we discovered that who made this tool originally used a bucket thoot and its holder .
Champered the parts and welded them together with 3 7018 passes all around
Used 2.5mm Lincoln electric 7018 at about 95 A
The sparks while grinding were way different than whatever I've worked with
A lot of microscopic brigth yellow sparks
Those sparks were like dots
What material could be?

After had those projects done I had to check another angle grinder ,a Makita GA9020 , unfortunately I found armature failure and it has worked too much so it's not worth to repair
Contacted the owner ,he said to throw it in the thrash so I saved the back flange for the wheel,the switch because is new (replaced it maybe 2 months ago) and the cord boot (and I will use it on my Bosch 9" grinder)

After all that I had to clean up my tools and put everything where should be .

What I worked with was completely different
It break like cast iron but it's not cast iron completely different spark
It must be some sort of high carbon tool steel with some others metals in it , maybe chrome and Moli
I don't know it was so different from what I usually work with
Imagine small little sparks very bright yellow , flying very far .

Hyster? I noticed a lot of the engine components and complete engines in the later ones were industrial variants of mainstream car / commercial offerings found more commonly across the pond.
I also suspect the earlier engines were ones that Hyster were using from a late 50s design. I was working on them '88 to 90-ish, so can't speak for the more modern ones since then.
