My security thinking here is simple, which burgler you know (not that anyone on here would associate with burglers) would set out with a pocketful of mortice lock keys? None I would think, more a jemmy and screwdriver so the shed is as well protected as it gets, I have a tight fitting door with sacrificial bits that aren't hard to get of with a jemmy but then the mortice lock is well re-enforced.
Anyone determined is going to get in but if they can carry blasting media away and car care products they are welcome to them. If they can steal the surface grinder they deserve a medal!

As part of the great yard clean up (trying not to look like a scrap yard/squat!)

I had half a load of tar chippings and some track and a Vision

We salvaged out a few ore tubs and flat trolly and made this, I do wish we took a lot of before pictures as the place was an absolute tip! Trees brambles rubbish mud and got knows what, 20 ton taken away to landfill and a spectacular bonfire and the yards getting thier

Well the *&&*^%$* Key broke, my own fault I thought I could press fit the broken shaft into a new "end". It turned out badly. Went to get a replacement but my hardware shop didn't have any. The owner there Andrea who is a lovely person gave me a couple blanks and so I made my own, I didn't have much to work with:

All working just fine, needed a bit of persuasion (no, I haven't learned my lesson) then it just worked:

Keep the old key plate , file it flat to get rid of the round , cut off one of the blank key plates along the shaft , end cut it with double blades of slitting discs and silver solder it in place & keep it as a spare ??

On the new key lightly file all edges round to get a better sliding fias new keys often have sharp grippy edges ..

It took the entire day but it starts looking working area.
As said on yesterday, today I've cleaned up my homeshop and had little bit of tide up in the storage too.
Plus other things I'll write later

There's still a lot of things to move an put in their dedicated spot, something else in the garbage and obviously the benches are still a mess

But I can at least walk inside.
Once everything will find its home I'll have enough space to work on my projects and escape from reality.
While throwing things in the garbage I've installed the M203 on one of my rifles

For which I'll make a knight Armament Leaf sight replica

because I really can't pay more than what I've paid the gun just for a sight and most importanttly because I can...
Real sights are what I've believe not legal over here so no surplus and airsoft replicas are very expensive, not available in Italy or Europe in general, so they are going to charge custom duties and taxes over them and the already high price (120 euro) becomes something unthinkable to justify as it's just for aesthetics...
If you not use Tag Innovation granades (those actually fly out the muzzle like the real ones and reach about 100 meters exploding on impact)
No wonder why no one have them installed...
Plus I was about to destroy (to throw it in the scrap metal) my old Beretta replica because "broken" but I've tried it one last time using a KJW magazine and it works great...

Not today but in the last few days I made a few bits.

I cut some MDF to make a system for mounting my milling machine heads on top of my new heavy duty tool drawers. they just drop on and slide into the dovetail and gravity holds them in place. also made a wall bracket for the 3-way tilt table.

Also made wall mounts for the fixed table and the indexing table:

I had a 'safety guard' from my log splitter that was pre-drilled with holes. never gonna use that so I chopped it up and used a section of it to make a rack to fix above my lathe to hold various chucks and chuck keys:

And whilst i was at it I fixed my whiteboard on the wall at the end of the lathe.

I also made this threaded adapter for my MT4/ER32 collet chuck. All of my MT4 stuff except for this (ad my boring/facing head) uses M16 thread and the drawbars are a pain to swap out so to save me the stress I converted the collet chuck to M14. I tapped a M14 thread insisde, turned a M16 thread outside and threadlocked it into place then snapped it off and cleaned the end up with a countersink.
