I have been really ticked off with myself after I destroyed not one but two Iscar carbide boring bars, my "favorite" through coolant 16mm bar and my little 6mm bar. Looking around ebay this morning it looks like everyone has twigged just how costly 16mm carbide bars are so I have succumbed to temptation and bought a 16mm bar off Aliexpress. Forty quid all in. I will report back.
Meanwhile the cheapest version of the 6mm bar is a hundred quid, I am going to have to buy one as I have a LOT of tips and they will fit only this bar. I will leave it for now and start saving.
No steel, I've already enlarged the slot, just about to make another one to take a bearing bar.I would be taking the angle grinder to the storage rail. Is that resin block you are using there to prototype?
