Today I've done anything I'm just too tired and I'm almost giving up.
Too many things to do, too many problems to overcome.
I'm just trying to keep going towards my goals ,no one encourages me at home.
Anyways enough talking, tomorrow is another day

Don't be despondent, M. I'm a terrible procrastinator and easily lose enthusiasm. Even so, seeing what the guys on the forum do really makes me want to keep on with my projects, even when I hit stumbling blocks. Stick with it, you'll get there.

When desperately short of cash & having blown up my RD250 I picked up a 1972 Fiat 500 for £25 (this was about 1986).
Simple fun things. No syncromesh, the same smelly heater system (& window demister) and 18hp 2-cyl rear engine.

The absolute best thing about it for a young idiot though - was the discovery of a ring-pull cable under the map pocket. This turned out to be linked to the throttle cable - the world's crudest cruise control device!
Combine this with a fold back half sunroof & a young idiot..... & you have the only car I've ever known that you can set "cruise", flip back the sunroof..... and then climb out & sit on the roof, while steering with your feet

Made the yard tool cart a bit longer, contents have expanded over the years. I had a spare box so added a bit of unistrut to the base,trimmed off all of the old handles etc and bolted in the extra section, now need to reload/organise the contents.

Sounds very similar to the Fiat 500 one.
I guess it could make sense (back then) over wide, long, straight, light traffic continental roads of 40-50 years ago.
No brake override would make it a liability in congested UK of today.

On Pendine Beach, I used to engage the throttle, perch on the roof & steer with my feet in 2nd gear past all the old dears etc in their deck chairs.
They'd clock this funny little car, with a berk on the roof & no-one inside it, doing lazy circles & eights & just gape at the sight.
I found it highly amusing at the time.

Land Rovers must have had one - my first "driving" experience was on my mums knee in her dad's Land Rover as it trundled across a field with him hauling hay out the back for the cattle - early 1970's - they retired in 76 I think, so the most I would have been was 5, but I reckon it was earlier than that.

First attempt at mid print filament colour swap and pretty happy, only took ~45m and is 120mm long (stock settings suggested just over an hour with better quality but I'm happy with my speed tune).

Also today, I made a template of the scale from an Alba Shaper that @God mode restorations wanted so he could get a new one made.

Gear selection...pull fast....push slow Very nice. I could do with one of those, mine is broken in half. I didn't know the instructions were on the knob.

It only took a year to get around to doing it.

To make it I needed to take the scale off my shaper but it was made of monkey metal and the pins holding it on were solid so even though I ground the head off, I broke it into several bits.

It was bent and grubby so I didn't mind as it had to come off at some stage.

I cleaned it up, stuck it together with epoxy glue, made a box and stuck it to the bottom with double sided tape.

Then mixed, degassed and poured in silicone to make a mould.

The negative came out ok.

So I turned the mould over and put it back in the box, mixed and poured in some polyurethane casting resin.

Came out ok but there's a couple of small air bubbles that ruined it.

I thought the vacuum pump I used wasn't pulling enough of a vacuum for degassing, so I fixed that and had another go. (I need to post that fix in the "stuff you fixed today" thread.)

A definite improvement and probably good enough for the job.

I'm sure a 3d printer would have made it in next to no time but where's the fun in that. (And I don't have a 3d printer or know how to draw or use one and I don't need another hobby)

Well I've already rearranged the letters (turns out they aren't attached to the base in the stl) to say "pets welcome people tolerated" for a friend but tempted to do a "pets welcome people f**k off"

Mine too, but it was fitted with a Fairey capstan winch.

Would be needed if the LR had to run machinery via a PTO which for a S1 or S2 would be more likely than a S3 or Defender.
