Patina.I made two dents in my Midget, when a metal petrol can fell from a great height onto it.
One in the boot lid, one in the rear deck.

We used to have a brass measuring scale/pointer that you manually reset as part of firing preparations - it showed how far the barrel and breech had recoiled during firing, nominally it should have been 12 inches with a switch at about 14.5 inches to cut the loading system and firing circuits, and if things went really bad metal to metal contact happened at about 15 inches!Yes…it’s got to do with recoil compensation/ damping. Will make more sense when I post the rest of the photos of the bits that are related to how it works…. But I have to make them first![]()
MiniDecided to fit car wheels and tyres to my topper as the fields are bumpy,hubs are 40mm diameter with a pair of oilite bushes,welded to 200 mm discs on a pcd to suit the wheels,anyone recognise their origin ? IView attachment 450473 took them from a scrapyard 30ish years ago for a trolley I built.
