Slow progress on the shelf/decorating. All the tools got soaked in a sudden downpour a few days back and now router bearing sounds a bit crusty. Today I worked inside. The shelf makes a reasonable work bench

Cast iron exhaust collector,someone did some poor welding,which had failed,so I cut it above a lower repair,where access was perfect,luckily the original stub being 60 o/d was perfect for my stock of 60.3/5mm chs.

Welded some barrels together to make some floats, needed to move a digger and stump grinder onto an island we are working on and the pontoon needed stabilisers, barrels one side and my old l;anding craft the other.

Another variant with the grills. The castellations seemed to fit the theme somewhat but I think I shall have to change to a smaller diameter for the lower half of the legs.

Today I discovered I'd made a cock up. Gear head motor not big enough for my electric lead screw conversion. It's not for threading. Just a variable, reversible feed system so I don't have to run my noisy change gears, Unless threading.
Back to the drawing board, wiper motor maybe. I have the 12v supply, the motor speed controller and dpdt switch installed. So just need a bigger motor.

Painted a hose reel for an industrial vacuum cleaner that I put in order. Using 2K polyurethane + 10% activated UHMWPE powder. I need roughness and wear resistance inside the rim.

Polyurethane was not transparent, milky-cream shade in the mass. But the main blue color shines through. White grain UHMWPE gives a touch of "gray hair".
