The fuse specifically, but the socket still needed replacing after being subject to that.
What does the plug belong to? Was it a chinese "fuse"?

It was a extension lead to the tumble dryer, probably over worked this time of year, i've ordered a new lead and changed the sockets as dad always has spares, 13 amp fuse i suspect in the plug, not something that was checked pre or post burn out !
Improvise, adapt and overcome.While I was fixing the Surf I also used the old exhaust to prop up the side gate while I refixed the roller wheel

I repaired my 5" display that I had overvolted. The regulators all looked fine, but I found a DC-DC converter with a chimney hole in it, so got some replacements on order. It seems that the soldering was done with lead free as it took the hot air gun a while to remove it, even at 500F. Then I couldn't find my solder paste, so resorted to hand soldering.
Sell the old wire for scrap and use that to fund the rewire.I've said the whole house needs a rewire, but the economic climate means there's no spare cash for anything at the moment
You might need to leave out some circuits for now.

Installed - another diesel heater post....
Located where I want it. Got the air and exhaust outlets cored drilled. Needed more pipework than supplied which was cheap enough. Got some 45 deg bends as well. Stick on measure so I can work out consumption. Cables tidied and PSU in cabinet below on a shelf.
Waiting for some P-clips for the air pipe and will put a plastic hat on the comedy air filter intake as pretty sure that will get soaked/water in. Idea behind the pipe bends is that when its all clipped in place, I only need to disconnect 2 clamps and pull the whole thing away from inside to service or whatever. Have an air quality meter above it by coincidence and apart from initial exhaust pipe crap burn off it's clean as.
Been using it for about a week, draws about 25w on the PSU after initial 100w or so start up. I'm saving 60% over 2kw heater versus diesel consumption. I like the heat spread as well, kicks it out well and even RH seems down over electric. Well happy.

my vax spotwash. i have its big brother too for general carpet cleaning in the house but the little spotwash is ideal for the stairs, and the purpose i originally bought it for, valeting cars.
the little beastie stopped spraying water, but sucked it through fine when plugged into the self clean port (basically attaches it to the vacuum pump to drag cleaning fluid through the pipes, this proved its pipes where clear.) its only been used 2 or 3 times so very disappointing. a quick google found this video...
which identified where the pump was, what the part number is and how to take the machine apart. a hop on to ebay, a little over a tenner and its fixed.
