No, it's pre CanBus.

I had a BMW S1000XR in a while back for RHS rear indicator not working, that was CanBus and required a new Chassis Control Module, £400 or more iirc just for the module.

Customer asked if I could just change the "flasher relay", unfortunately not as it hasn't got one!.

Thought so. I was intrigued by your equipment as I thought that my GS-911 was the dog's, but apparently not! I have my own Ibus scanner that I use for the radio conversion module development.

axle mocked up and wheel fitted to check clearance. plenty.

and all welded up... 180amp mig, 0.6mm wire, set to full power and wirespeed nearly flat out. really needed 0.8mm wire for this.

just gotta paint it.

That axle will be good for 5 ton or so, not sure about the rest of it!

Another "one in every skip" Henry vacuum on my bench yesterday, cable was cut off and that usually means it's done for, so i immediately took it apart and started testing the motor, switches ect, there was nothing wrong with it , so why cut the cable off ? What value is a few feet of 1 sqmm cable ?

Never managed to find a cheap, or better still free one yet. Loads on Facebook near me around the £60 mark, which seems steep for a used vacuum managed to get a perfect washing machine for half that last week!

Not finished yet. But a work in (very slow) progress. The doll that this is the leg off, is around 2 foot high and the leg is 9 1/2 inches long. Found most of the bits, but I'm having to fill the lost bits.

did it with roller and brush as i couldnt be arsed moving the car outside. worked ok, but would not recommend.

We are on Texa Diagnostics.

Some manufacturers give a few Parameters to look at, others (Piaggio Group / Ducati especially) give pages worth of real time data.

Very handy tool but not cheap, you can't even turn a service light off on the new bikes without one though.

I'd be lost without it really, this bike did not store any DTC's so it would have been guess work without the full diagnostics.

Finally got round to replacing the pneumatic wheels (that never seemed to hold air for long) on my trolley with a pair of yellow puncture proof ones that I think @8ob linked to a while back

I've got some of those on my four wheeled trolley and they are good but don't leave them in one place loaded up for too long as they get flat spots!

all done. seems to work ok and will be nice and strong. will find out thursday... im going with mudguards are optional at this point....

I learned years ago that they bounce less when solid axles then with those silly little rubber suspension units.

Rusty, seized Hacksaw was pulled from a pond.

So, I used it as a base for teaching MIS members how old tools can be saved.



Again.

French Polish on the handle. There was trace of dead worm, so it was treated.

This was a pig, from the start.

The paint was a tar like coating, over hammerite, over enamel.

Paint stripper was no use.

So it was left to soak in Caustic soda. Even then it took a week.

Warm water washed it off, but it also showed how bad the rust was, how bad the solder repairs were.

Drying the metal out, allowed me to make good some of the joints.

I wish that those 2 images could show how much work went into getting ready for paint.

Two Butterfly Lanterns.

Neither were complete, but I hoped I could make one out of two.

Theses style lanterns have two pre heating methods. The semi circle bowl and the tube, the tube is a super heater.
It takes fuel, under pressure, from the tank and turns it into a small jet engine.
They are a pain to fix, make fuel tight and pressure tight.

A new ceramic mantle holder. with a new mantle.

Each part was striped and rebuilt. New seals and what not.
That is the NRV and pump.
Pressure gauge, vent and filler.
Super heater, still a pain.
Control valve.
Needle and jets.

But.

But she was not burning right.
The super heater was one issue, both were leaking and not sealing. But a hammer fixed one. The other then behaved.

Then a bit of an issue.
She blew the top of the lantern.
This is why I do testing out of doors.

This was another issue.
This pump rod was bent, so when in use it would twist and undo the nut and washer.

The both pressure gauges leaked..

Finally, one fully working Butterfly.
All works.

I used some cheap tyre puncture sealant stuff from Aldi in mine maybe 15 yrs ago. I've worn most of the tread off the tyres now and they still only rarely need blowing up.

I did have to weld spokes in the wheels though, back to the hub. Bent them all over the place very quickly. They've survived all sorts since, including providing mobility of the rear of a Scimitar SS1 once I'd removed the rear suspension - trolley frame wasn't too impressed with that particular load!
