As some will recall I aquired this chain block.

It was then Restored" by very keen, but mis led MIS members.

Yesterday and today I choose to do it correctly.

Fresh paint on old dirty paint.

The paint, oil, grease and dirt removed.

Rattle can paint.

New paint on the hook, with fresh grease, plus correct split pins.

The chains are coated in a mix of linseed oil and wax.

The tape protects the fresh paint.

I had a stainless cabinet from a commercial kitchen with weak legs and tiny wheels so i made a wooden base with some decent wheels on and pu glued it on then hammered the bottom of the old leg turrets round to fix it down.

Way to long ago to return them I bought some 10w v-tac led battens for over a bench, the internal drivers buzzed loudly and I couldn't find suitable aftermarket drivers as they run at about 85v @ 110mA so had to re configure them from 30 series x 2 parallel to 10 series x 6 parallel by cutting the tracks with a diamond point in a dremel and scraping the solder mask to make new pads. A pair running at 11w total gives better light than 1 at 10w and is silent.

I arranged a new spraying nozzle for my Gardena 12 liter backpack sprayer.

After fitting I discovered the onoff hand valve didn't shutoff anymore so pulled it out.

The spring sits in the seal but that seams original

Problem was the seat on the brass plunjer (on the right in this picture) was eaten away by the vinegar alcohol mix I always use in it.

As luck has it I had a piece of material.

So soldered it on the turned down piece.

Made new seat.

Assembled.

And found out I did not have enough action left so instead of talking everything apart again (afraid the seal wouldn't survive) made a 2.5mm disc and glued that on for the handle to press onto. Now waiting for glue to set and test everything again.

And it works again as new, not bad since this is only a plastic hobby product. Shame I had to renew the brass parts

I got this set of Stillsons last October.

The last few days I have been sorting the playpen out, this gave me time to do small projects.

De greased, just need to remove the flash rust.

Red resin in fill.

Second fill.

Not perfect, but for my first try at resin fill, it is not bad.

Thanks to forum advice on taking a bit of wobble out of my bike bench, doubles as general work bench.
Ordered 25mm bar and feet to put some firmness to outer corners.
Cut bar to size but don't have a lathe big enough, just got under the drill for spot and pilot, not ideal but worked pretty central with care.



Drilling & tapping M8 to depth was a bit manual on the bench but ok once I got a routine on.



Test fit, will level out tomorrow but already made a big difference.
Important is just to take the wobble out and not the load which the inner adjusters are there for, otherwise overcoming the ram and lockout bars.

This Panda Vice was in need of some TLC.

Ikea Vice.

Self assembly Vice.

It was not complete. I had to locate the T bar and bolt, washer and split pin. Plus new jaw fixing screws.
I gather them together for this image.

Oh, not Ikea, but a Babco Vice.

Getting it to fit took some work, as the base had ben dropped and it was distorted.

How bent was the screw?

New Screws for the jaws and more damaged.

Back together.

sorted out a mapping issue that prevented it idling hot.

and wired, learned how to configure, configured and tested the Engine Management Light.

not very exciting but a big step towards being finished.

I dunno if this counts as fixing. But I got these safety shoes that look pretty bad and the proper ways of maintaining this kind of suede leather won't work any more.

So I treated them like regular leather shoes, rubbed in mink oil and wax and colored leather cream and it's an improvement to my eyes anyway. More like regular leather shoes now instead.
