Three Ibuprofen and two Old Speckled Hens and I'm almost back to normal. Too much rolling about on the floor at my age

One issue was to take the considerable weight of the hub / knuckle assembly the engine crane needs to be in line with the axle, which is just where you need to be to grovel on the floor wielding durn great hammers and cold chisels !

I got theses a few weeks ago, I knew they were seized, but the jaws were still in good condition.

What was pleasing ws it was only one joint that was seized. The locking bar one.

Boiled up in Citic acid and hard waxed.

This set was sent to be and to be honest there was not much to do to it.

Spot the part what was not clean enough to take the new "Blackening".

Cleaned up my boyhood sheath knife found today in a drawer in my dads shed. I can remember carrying this from one end of the summer holidays to the other as a lad..

That’s amazing I’ve got one identical to that in my shed that I’ve had since I was a boy. It’s even got the same amount of pitting on the blade where it got neglected.
I think the pommel on mine is aluminium but I could be wrong I haven’t looked at it for a while it only comes out the draw if I need to cut some turf

Aye, the pommel on this one is ali. Its a venture made by Slaters of Sheffield. The pitting on this one is from swimming in the river,cutting sticks and cleaning fish and rabbits

Fixed something before it broke, bought a set of tamperproof torx screwdrivers, came in one of those flimsy paperthin plastic organisers which are never long for this world.

Sheet of plastic over a board, this is a mistake because the foam takes too long to cure , paper would be better.

Bit of weight on it to squish out the excess.

Should last a lot longer if not forever

I drill this hardened sieve, widening the holes from 4mm to 5mm. Universal drill bit for concrete with carbide insert. Special drills from my supplier are over, wait a week for delivery (I took the last 2 pieces and they slowly broke). And the work needs to be done now.

I think that makes three of us. It brings back some good memories today. I still have my boyhood knife my Dad gave me for my birthday in 1966, and it has always been part of my hunting kit over the years. The knife looks almost identical with an aluminium pommel that has a screwdriver slotted nut to retain the antler handle. The blade has a deep hollow grind to it, and is faintly marked "carbon steel, rustproof, magnetic" on one side, and "soligen cutlery, b.svobcba, sch??gf?? germany" on the other; can't quite make out the word before germany. I replaced the sheath about forty years ago, cobbling it up from the cover of policeman's ticket book I found in the street, lol.

Yeah there is something about the nostalgia of these old knives takes you right back to carefree happy times.
That's a lovely piece and the sheath is a masterpiece.

Yeah, there is something about certain objects and nostalgia. The sheath's leather was too shiny so I recall spraying it with one of the flat primers I painted my hunting bow and other gear with.
