Her two puppies were free and fighting.

Is that a euphemism?![]()

If one broke, the other one won't be far behind it, surely. This is definitely not in the realms of interesting, but fixing the washing basket gets me some brownie points and more justification that buying a 3D printer was a good idea

Good point - I've saved the model so I'll be able to make another one easily. If one broke, the other one won't be far behind it, surely.
Extra kudos for making two of them.

This little Gem came my way.
The Mini Auto Mini Max.
Theses units are not rare, but finding one with the bracket is.
The Auto was designed for cars and small lorries.
It was never popular as the larger units cost less and freely available from The RAC and the AA.

These units are simple to rebuild, if you can find the parts.
This one was rebuilt with a steel "poppet" valve. Steel, water and fire aditive not a good mix.
So I made a new one.
I have filled it with water and 6% AFFF mix.

The bracket was cleaned and repaired.
LHS on the base is a bracket with a hole. That part is new. The old one was rusted. That part is the main clip that secures the unit.
This bracket, I think was never fitted. As the fixing holes are still 3 BA. If it had been fitted they end op about 1/4" or 3/8.

All done, all working
Nice work! I worked in the warehouse at the Minimax factory in Feltham in the summer of 1974 (by then part of Chubb Fire), we had a skip just for those (and the Pyrene ones) brought back in by the service engineers, even in my short time there I binned hundreds of them.
