Giving these solid,but slightly squishy tyres a go,if they prove themselves then I’ll get more,just can’t get the old quality 3.5x8” tyres and tubes nowadays.

I lament the passing of my 15 yr old two wheeler muck barrow . Passed it onto a friend for £15 which is about what I paid for it.
I could move far more heavier loads in total control than I ever could in a brickies barrow ... just had to use two sets of scaff boards to get it up to empty it in to the skips . I modified the hollow axle using four Delrin bushes and a length of studding four big brass washers & two nylock nuts to keep the wheels on the axle as the press on caps rusted enough for them to keep coming off.

It pays to take time out and fit one of the check/stop valves at the incoming point of your rising main so if there is a sudden pressure drop in the rising main it seals off . Especially good if there is pipe work in the roof void etc. that might freeze and blow joints in minus 10 0c or so .

Today I got around to fixing the rear fog light on my truck.
It's been loosely ratting round ever since I've owned it, and never worked. That would be down to the fact it was rusted to hell and falling apart. Luckily I had an identical one from somewhere in one of my "come is useful one day" crates.
Ironically I'll probably never use it anyway, I've never felt the need in 3 years

Today I upgraded a clients pair of air cooled Lincolns to water cooled. They had been stood idle for a while and like most welding shops with multiples of the same machines they got robbed of anything vaguely useful so everything was busted or missing.
New cooler and umbilical cable on one, flush and clean and service on the other, repair the broken wires in the control cables (spot sneaky differences in colour codes and pin-outs before switching on and having something go bang, lucky me)
Test and home for tea. Oh, and I cleared the top of a toolbox I haven’t closed the lid on in years and managed to lock it with the keys inside...

In the worst corner, at 1,8 m high 60cm in, there's a ball valve bit a strainer that had to be cleaned. Could barely reach in to get it out. Thing is it's held in place by a circlip, needless to say I practised my whole swearing vocabulary at least twice...

Fixed an annoying round tuit that been present for several weeks . Weakened muscles ( 2nd covid dose related ) made it impossible for me to turn the thumbwheel to lock the angle on the mitre fence on my band saw . It's always been difficult since I had the first Covid event back in Nov 2109 . So I turned up & threaded a steel one that used one of those small knobs of steel you often get left over after parting thngs off inthe lathe . That's small 6 mm three inch long fixed tommy bar in the top ( bit of an old Phillips screwdriver shaft ) . Jobs a good'un

I forgot to add ... look closely at the degree pointer , I've given the point a nick with a 12 inch hacksaw blade and bent it very close to the protractor , so that when you look from above it's like looking down a Vee back sight to the foresight of a rifle . Once done it was set and the first cut checked with a precision square from the last face cut ..it took four attempts to get it spot on . Then spent a few attempts to get it cut vertically square , rechecked the transverse cut . Yeah success all round .

Newbie here and loving the work in this thread so thought I would share my modest efforts.
While clearing out my 83 year old father's shed, I came across his first tool box from when he was an apprentice.
Unfortunately as I lifted it up the bottom and the tools within stayed firmly on the floor
.
Rather than consign it to the skip, I decided to have a go at restoration, after all, I've watched the Repair Shop and it looks easy enough.
Once I had used my shop vac to remove the remains of the base, it became apparent that I was peeling an onion and each laver just uncovered more rot and woodworm.
Looking around the garage, I had some 12mm ply and some battening so set about making a reproduction.

After, with the application of some Hair Pin legs and a bit of paracord weaving
It's the same box, but with different sides, bottom, lid, hinges, chain, hasp and legs, so in reference to "Trigger's Broom!
I did manage to save the original leather suitcase handle on the side, though
I've lacquered it so it can now be used as a coffee table.
Suppose I had better get back to learning tomelt weld metal.

Well I’m chuffed,having been locked out of my van since Thursday,I bought a battery off e bay,Friday,it arrived yesterday in the post! I’ve now soldered it to the circuit board INSIDE the fob,and it works,now I’m waiting for a new fob shell as mine has had a missing key ring loop for 2 years,Ford apparently charge £300 and want the van for 2 days as well.This is what puts me off renewing any of my vehicles and kit all the electronics that I don’t value.

Thé pug keyfobs we have in our brand new works vehicles break after 18 months, two years max, we buy replacement covers, they dont last either. What's wrong with good old keys? And electric handbrakes whos Idea was that?

Angle grinder lost its speed control a month ago, knowing it'd be a mosfet shorted out I had a look and found a few spares, found one that is close enough fitted and works. Reason I did today was
one of these LCR T4 testers arrived, so I wanted to try it. The old mosfet was just shorted out but new ones test good.

Fixed my old leg vice, after somehow posting this in the 'cats' thread 
It's been seized solid for years after I bought it so I've been soaking it in Plusgas. Finally got the blowtorch on it and gave it a very quick clean up and it works!
