Yes that’s it. I did have the whole thing. Bar the motor. Guy bought it online and found there was no motor in itJEI / Jancy?
I'm not an authority on putty knives, but the construction of that suggests its very old and a really good piece of kit. Well done for supporting the girl's effortsAt MIS we keep old, dead or surplus tools that need restoring, so members can practise on them.
Soem even turn up good. Today a new member took on himself to dump the tools. To be told.
Wind you neck in.
This is an example of how a dead tool can be saved.

Yes that is a putty knife.
Honest Gov.
Another new member asked if she could have a go at saving it.

A bit of hard work, a coffee and a new member has a tool she can use.

That's 7 year old? Looks more like 17?Had a rattle coming from the front right of my 7 year old golf, turns out the brake shield had just rusted off. Never had one just fall off before.
New ~ £25 on eBay and old.

Calliper carrier bolts turned out to be 21mm, luckily I had a wheel nut socket the correct size and they broke free with a breaker bar.

Last challenge, will the torx screws come out or round off.

Well luckily all three came out without drama.
All went back together without a hitch.
bloody hell! thats nice under there!!Exhaust leak at the right manifold.......again
Well it's gradually been getting worse since the end of last summer and I finally got a bit of free time today to investigate.
The right downpipe never seemed to fit very well into the manifold, so after my engine rebuild I put some extra high temperature silicone on the sealing ring to try to improve the situation. However before long it started to leak again.
I got my lift back out of hibernation and got be the car up in the air.

My plan this time was to remove the manifold from above and pack out the joint with fiberglass tape to try to improve the seal. However this is what I found.

One nut loose and the other one missing, so I decided just to replace the nuts and bolts, tighten the coupling back up and test before removing the manifold.

This is easily done with someone wrenching from the top, and one from below, but I was on my own so used this bent spanner to get to the top of the bolt.

Job done.

The test drive was great, no more puffing from the manifold. So a slightly easier job then anticipated.
Since the car was up on the ramp, I decided to a bit of a belated and overdue spring clean.

I'll try to force myself to do a deeper clean next spring.

On that basis I’ll get one next time. I’ve always held off as I’ve never seen one in use as it were. Not so much fixed today but what I maintained. Using my Lidl electric hoist for the first time lifting the ride for blade inspection and sharpening. My own made heavy duty axle stands for support. Works well.
