Got it going at last after a few more kickbacks. Used fresh petrol which helped a lot. Running sweet now.
52CC hurts when it kick backs
try an 52cc china one that got great compression but dont like starting pulled it sliped out the left hand holding it and run up both legs (sharp edges they not got but nuts and blots protruding it does ) 3 weeks later still got marks on my legs where drawn bloodTry an old Brit twin,with high compression.

Did the old recoil starter have easy start cord ?Strimmer won't start and is kicking back every time you pull the cord. Nasty and painful. Was working fine any ideas?
Only used nylon line not a metal blade so didn't hit anything nasty.

A while ago I tried a quality push along cylinder mower. For short grass it was so easy and gave a lovely cut. I suspect it would suit most people better than something powered.
