The fore runner to the shooting stick is a charcoal burners stool. that only had one leg. When charcoal was/is made properly, the burner has to stay awake for a long time in case the burn got out of control. You have to balance on a one-legged stool. If you fall asleep. you 'drop off' hence the saying. 'Drop off to sleep'

Every day is a school day in this place.

You would have thought, after taking the picture with the name of the brand clearly on it the seller would have been able to transpose that clearly, Idleback is not Ideal!
Had my triggersticks with us today (Dan carried the guns) so the gun rest part is taken care of, Stool comes tomorrow I hope. Gone for a design that has failed me in the past but I am hopeful things have improved on the durability front. As an aside, does anyone know why a milking stool has three legs?
