Whoops! Yep, @Domdom. I'm blaming Covid induced confusion...
I've worked around there, not againSouth Ockenden, say no more. I once worked with a nefarious pair of subbies from there must have been in the mid-late '90's. One day they said 'we're packing up, see you tomorrow' at about 11am. I thought they had something important to do but it turned out they had watched a lorry unload a load of goods in the supermarket loading bay next door then bold as brass backed their van onto the dock and filled it to the roof with goods. Pair of scumbags.
If it was a BOC one with a collar it may be worth talking to them and letting them know? Also had his welder (Sealey I think) and empty gas bottle taken.

As long as something rolls freely it’s not that hard to move it in neutral as we all know.
There are always quads getting nicked in the highlandswife follows the police page so we see a lot.
when the daughter had her new merk stolen the old bill had it on the road cameras going down the a19 at 12 am so they can checkLooking at that picture, and the looseness of the cover, I'll bet it didn't go far?
Can the police cameras not pick this up? Or are they not bothered, given the nature of the likely culptrits?

At the risk of sounding like a tin foil hat-ist there’s a lot they can do but don’t advertise for obvious reasons. They do a lot in the background but it seems like nothing happens as it’s all normal time. Unless there’s a positive sighting called in it gets investigated with leads being followed which all takes time. It’s not just about recovering property but holding the scum to account. Their slimey briefs pick up on anything so everything has to be 100% during the investigation.when the daughter had her new merk stolen the old bill had it on the road cameras going down the a19 at 12 am so they can check
I am really sorry for you over this - and whilst I cannot really help, I have a couple of questions which I am curious about:-A bit more info. It was taken from Hall Crescent, Aveley, South Ockendon. There is ring doorbell and other footage but so far I believe the van plate isn't clear. They draped a car cover over the Capri.

There is an FB page ref the theft including a clear CCTV video though wrong angle for the plate it seems.
As to the value etc. Yes it's a special one off done to the owner's taste but whatever it represents 10 years of his life aside from the blood, sweat and tears that went into it. Along with of course the cost. To boot he wasn't insured.
I know, with hindsight he should have had his own CCTV, garage alarm, tracker and so on. It was taken from his locked garage from an off road, gated alley behind his house.
As aforementioned, if anyone thinks they might of seen anything, has any dash cam or CCTV footage etc.
Thanks
Apparently nicked cars are often parked up somewhere like this for a day or two by the thieves in case the stolen car has a tracker fitted. It's a shame that whoever spotted the Capri wasn't aware that it was stolen at the time.Spotted Sunday (I think) parked up in a layby in between Thetford and Ashill.
Why? Am I missing something?I am not going to be the first to answer this.![]()
