Hi All,
OK....First i will attach a picture demonstrating my "Goal" which will hopefully allow you all to understand more clearly my objective.
My Question is in a few parts.
1/ Could this wheel flare be made from sheet metal, then welded to side of van, and be strong enough? (the side skirts are not a definate that will depend on welding ability, wether they are that long or just short, but they will can be either done anyhow).
2/ Most new cars have a plastic inner lining on the wheel wells...obviously, thats just not possible with a van from 1976. Do i need to weld in some kind of "backing/2nd layer/box like system" OR can i just leave it as is, and just spray some kind of protective rubber/paint on the back?
3/ Is it best to just make a "frame" and weld sheets of metal too the frame from the body?
4/ Ive seen people bend "lips" around the open edge of the guard so to speak, is this just a "safety" thing (avoids cutting hands when doing work on tyres say) OR is this for another purpose? And should i do it too?
OK thanks
(Be gentle i know NOTHING!)
(P.S: My Caps isnt "yelling" its emphasising so please noone take any offence )
