I have a very similar one, xmas present a few years back and still going. Run time was about half an hour when it was new. Batteries are getting a bit weak now but they're easily replaced.
My only gripe is it goes from 'fearsomely bright' to 'candle in a jam jar' as the batteries run down. I've yet to find one that runs the LEDs at a controlled power.

He usually gets me heavy Citrus notes pale ale which I'm not a fan of really but have never had the heart to say. This stuff is much more to my taste.

A lady once told me you can wash and clean workshop mugs. I did not know that workshop mugs could be cleaned.
I treat them like a teapot, never wash them as it removes the seasoning.
If you replace the hu flung dung batteries with decent ones it will help.
I have 18650 cells salvaged from tool batteries that I have rebuilt.
I test the old batteries and write the capacity on them. They vary between 1 and 1.5ah and are no longer suitable for a drill but they will run a head torch for many hours.
