SS has to be fair always been my nemesis. The issue I always seem to have is sunken beads.. I thought, stand to be corrected, that I’d tried everything, got in quick with higher amps etc but nothing wants to work...
SS 3mm wall tube cleaned with acetone, tacked tight, has set at 8 pure argon.. 316L rod stick out 4mm sharp ground tip red electrode 2 secs post and pre flow slope up and down 2.5..
Tried 100amps 90 amps used foot pedal and currently torch control, number 7 cup with gas lense checked for gas leaks = zero.. tight as I can arc tip still sharp and clean after trying..
Tried placing tubes on copper flat stock and Aluminium stock to suck heat out but no joy!
Personally I think too much heat but hey! I don’t think I could have got up and running any quicker tif ..
Your thoughts would be appreciated, I have very few issues with mild stew nowadays.. x
