The last speed trap I saw round here was a Gendarme in full sniper camo hiding in a bush, at least yours don’t hide!
my argument would be on the lines of speedos arent accurate like digital speed cameras after all they are a wire to a spinning device and all devices where downMy unspoken comment was "Why if the speed limits are so accurately decided and 1MPH makes all the difference, do we not see 24MPH, 33.5 MPH 53MPH etc?".
tested mine against sat nav , @33 suppossedly I am doing 30 , so my speedo was showing 34 so supprised to see I was recorded @ 36mph ..and the officer put their thumbs up like I was ok ???!! so had nt given it any thought till notification came through today !my argument would be on the lines of speedos arent accurate like digital speed cameras after all they are a wire to a spinning device and all devices where down
i also dont know of anywhere that can say the speedos in a car are accurate even if they say you have a 3mph difference
not even cars digital speedos are accurate whilst phones can have fun
i did play around with the sat nav speed to the inaccurate speedo that was interesting
I'm struggling to think what profession it is that allows you to claim time spent at a speed awareness course as relevant learning.
I have no intention of arguing at all , first time fine(first time caught) its a fair cop and I will go on the course if given the option.Type approval for speedos is -0% +10% so showing 33 in a 30 is wihin limits. You can try to take that argument to court but all it's going to get you is a bigger fine than the fixed penalty.

I think you deserve a medal, not a fine.My first offence ever @ 70 year old ! damn .
I was the same though. Four SP30s as a teenager and then not a blemish until 2022 in a new and (legally) unsigned 20 zone.I think you deserve a medal, not a fine.![]()
Bloody 20mph zones/roads. grrrr.I was the same though. Four SP30s as a teenager and then not a blemish until 2022 in a new and (legally) unsigned 20 zone.
There one on my commute in a on morning . . . I'm annoyed with the clowns who tail gate me - including dustbin wagon . . .Bloody 20mph zones/roads. grrrr.
when you consider I spent years doing light haulage and multi drop in london its a miracle really , the joke was I took the scenic route home that day as a nice relaxing change instead of A road , so much for for that ehI think you deserve a medal, not a fine.![]()
Often an area designated with a speed control sign such as a black camera out line on the outer edge of roads in the zone is sufficient to proclaim a speed limit let alone display the limit every time you see one of these cartoon camera's even if you don't see any change of limit signage The area of Swansea I got done in , is about three miles across at 20 mph and there are at least four different signage models stating the 20 limit . The signage it's about as consistent as lumpy diarrhea .So poodling along just exiting a corner this road is 30mph and next sign is 40mph , so technically I am still in 30 zone as I come around the corner I notice what I thought to be some one with a theodalite but no one else about and no signage , realised then its a speed camera ..to late ,as I have just been notified I was doing 36 in the 30 zone , I was under the impression signs had to be put out ? anyways clocked the van snuck up around the corner out of site as I went past and the consequence I have just recieved a speeding ticket . My first offence ever @ 70 year old ! damn . I was of the understanding that everything was meant to be clearly insight rather than catching you as you exit a corner ? advice please, not saying I was nt speeding just want to know if it was done correctly .thanks
