How does that happen! The vice that came with my milling machine has a few slits cut into the top of the jaws, not quite that bad but the mind still boggles.

I purloined a drill vice from the tip (& got spotted) it makes that one look mint! If I knew how to put a photo on I'd show you. I didn't realise how bad it was until I got it home. Still works though, just looks if it came from a war zone

looks like a pipe union nut, 4 x nuts & bolts drilled through it, and a lump of iron badly brazed on

Do people really buy this stuff off ebay???

There was a nice user made tool grinder on eBay a few days ago, it only sold for about £65 I think

I haven't seen DoubleBoost's one, is it in any videos?

The Harold Hall ones are perfectly strong enough for taking fine 'cuts', as long as everything is tight, after all you are not going to scuff heavy section down on them.

somewhere on somebodys workshop floor lies 95% of a chuck...the other 5% is now for sale
