they were doing lost wax castings thousands of years ago and stuff a lot more detailed than thatIt doesn't put anyone to shame, developed countries were doing that hundreds of years ago, its just basic tin smithing, and casting. Good on them, but don't get carried away.
Yeah their ingenuity and their ability to use whats around them is wonderful it would be interesting to see how they'd get on with better gearThanks, watched it and went on youtube and watched the other, love the skill of these guys, makes you wonder what they could turn out with a modern workshop and equipment.

AgreedIt would be far more amusing to see how most of our lot managed with a lot less gear. What the others have said is correct in that we've been through that stage at some point in history, but it doesn't change the fact that most would be somewhat lost without their workshop toys these days.
"We" have plenty of craftsmen doing hand work, but we don't need to do everything like that we've had an industrial revolution.
If "they " were so clever they wouldn't be living in poverty.
To be fair though I can't see anything particularly taxing what they are doing in the video. Most people on here I would dare say could do just the same with the same tools as them.
I commissioned my friend to make me this as a souvenir, me on my ancient Tenere 600.
