Just this moment had survey chap around (cold) to offer Warmhomes package. The final nail in the coffin was when it is once installed, my oilfired heating system would be removed. Having the oil-fired as backup isn't an option or PC I suspect? Removing my expensive Rayburn range would practical destroy the kitchen, aesthetically. I suspect that it would be insisted upon to tick the goverment's boxes?

Warmer home guys fitted a disasterous full heating package in the bungalow 20 years ago . leaky & uninsulated under the roof void insulation , failed to bleed the system properly leading to a burnt out pump on the hot water side with in hours of saying it was commissioned & ready to go, as well as lots of leaking oil pipework, When I wrote to complain and sent 30 or so full colour photos a manager said , " So what , it's not as though you have paid for it, it was done under grant . That saw me contact shouters in the WAG they arranged it for us to have an independent assessment and an unconnected team re do everything properly
The Chinese manufactured Firebird condensing oil burner was burnt out beyond hope in 8 yrs and the flue joints at the boiler had burnt through in four years , scorching things in the airing cupboard ,


The replacement boiler is a Worcester ,fitted by a local who keeps failing to come and service it as there is not a few grand in his pockets for the same length of time he'd take to do a service

Has anyone else experience of grid connected systems tripping the main RCD?

Pretty sure it didn't go before the system went in and now random trips but infrequently, sometimes might go twice in a week and sometimes be fine for several weeks

Logically I think it has to be a particular piece of equipment or combination of different things with a cumulative effect rather than the solar

Just changed the hot water divert from Solis to a myenergi Eddi pure sine as the Solis made the fusebox buzzy

It hasn't made any difference to the tripping

Next door had megga probs with hard wired fuse shorts ..it tripped our system time & time again.
When they finally had a new kitchen fitted the consumer unit was up graded and their catenary wire fed garage supply was removed .. Since then very few mains drop outs .

My (not) suggestion was nothing to do with FIT. As you rightly suggest, that could and potentially would be detected easily
