Yeah lots of people prefer hex. For 1 it’s a far easier system to recognise and size up before you need the tool. Most people can look at a hex and say “that’s a 6mm Allen key”.I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on that one I'm afraid @Richard.
I'm a hex or 6 sided nut/bolt kind of guy personally
Have you got a link to the pro torx i cant find one....I’ve got the Halfords Pro Torx Sockets. They’ve taken all the abuse a hobbies can throw at them and still going strong
Most of the torx/spline drive gear I come across is in the ends of cs bolts , I think we are all forgetting the garbage predecessors which were the philips, pozidrives, allen or the plain old cross heads. Now they were all just pants.

I could only see the security torx bits on their websiteHave you got a link to the pro torx i cant find one....
I did find what seems a great offer.

Now can i be cheeky and ask anyone with a trade card to check online and see if they come up cheaper with a trade card???
I could see others but none stated PRO.I could only see the security torx bits on their website
I think what Richard was referring to was cap heads which are more like Allen headed ones. But worth noting that if you want / need 12.9 rated bolts then they're more often than not cap heads.I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on that one I'm afraid @Richard.

Replaced another on the car today with a plain M6 bolt, it was a sod to remove, I needed a T32.5 torx as the T30 wasn't quite big enoughWhen ever possible I replace torx with any other suitable fitting, normally just a plain bolt head once I've got them out.
Sigh, yet another variant to worry about.^^^ Might have been a Ribes R5.
You should look at this in a more positive light mate.Sigh, yet another variant to worry about.
My list of tools & equipment I'd like to buy is plenty long enough without adding a bunch of oddball fasteners to the list. You should look at this in a more positive light mate.
More variants more excuses to buy tools
