That is correct. I think it might be a weeks training though. Are these Smart Repair blokes franchisees?
Iow, pay some cash, get a two-day training course and a bit of toolery and let loose without a clue or any history or knowledge of what a good job entails.
in the dark lolThat is correct. I think it might be a weeks training though.
They work outside in the cold and damp too, so its hardly surprising it doesn't work out. Yes I know they use tent things and heaters, but its not the same as being indoors, and if you were going to DIY, you would pick your day, not do it in the conditions that I have seen these guys working in.some of the pdr guys are bandits too , hard to find a good one
with the smart repairs what i would fear is they often use substandard materials , so it might look ok on the day but age faster than the other panels , due to 1k primer and clear
id guess he was trying to mix up a thimble full of colour for that job and when doing small amounts a slight error makes a massive difference
A mate had them do his BMW. You honestly cannot see the damage now. All he has do now, is to fix the indicator switchThis is a timely post.
I have a tiny ding in the tailgate of my car and took it to a local Smart Repair place yesterday. They said the whole panel needs painting. Badges removed and re-fitted. Was quoted £250+VAT. That sounds very cheap to me. How can that be a quality job at that price.
The colour mis-match on a metallic paint is what worries me most.
Looking at the OP, I think I would rather a paintless dent removal. Some of those guys can work magic.
seen it all first hand , i worked at a dealers bodyshop but the salesman would be clever and think they can save a few over repairing it in house and get these bandits in , customer goes ape s**t then i got to paint it to a satisfactory standard , rinse and repeatThey work outside in the cold and damp too, so its hardly surprising it doesn't work out.
