well just to conclude this, in the end I bought a harrison universal mill with a vertical attachment and im very pleased with it,after chewing up big pieces of steel today its safe to say that had I bought a chinese bench mill,it would now be a broken chinese bench mill!
700 of your pounds iirc,its probably a lot for you guys but to me its worth every penny considering my options in Ireland,its 3 phase and has some wear but not enough to make it unserviceable in any way

that a good price, and it looks clean and honest...it'll last you years, and you'd still get your money back if you decide to part company with it.......enjoy
yea I was happy with the condition, i do need to look in to adjusting the play on the v that locates the table on the knee, it has a small bit of play I think, other then that it seems like new! I greased and oiled it up yesterday and it eats metal! I need to find out what cutting fluid to use, I dont want water based because the machine will only see intermittent use and I don't want corrosion
