I can send you a Colchester Master bed for you to measure and practice on
did you get any quotes on your regrind project ? matth
How much is there to the "Turcite scraping etc"? I probably can't afford even sensibly priced regrinding (Or rather, can't justify it as a hobbyist) but my Chipmaster has some pitting at the end of the bed and it's not unreasonable that I could strip it down and get it to Essex in the future. The top slide definitely needs some work too.I reckon there is a opportunity for sensible priced bed regrinding for the hobbyist who may want to do his own turcite scraping etc
I got a quote yesterday of a firm in Colchester with a churchill way grinder.
They wanted £5200 just to grind the bed on a Colchester!

Wow, moon beams. Its a while since Brian did my M300, it needed a lot of work. 70thou off the bed. Turcite on the saddle etc. Was less than £750. My Tom Senior was about the same, only needed a tickle but he scraped it in. Both lovely jobs. (I hope he’s enjoying his fishing)
Wow, that is super cheap. I'm looking at 4 x that for the Master.
Jesus....
What's matter with you lot...couple of norton flap wheels and a straight edge....sorted..
