SIP clicking

Seen a SIP mig going cheap near me with a problem.
When trigger is pulled it clicks rather than feeding wire. Bit vague but is this likely to be an easy fix?

Sometimes it can be as simple as one of the power buttons is sticky, working them in and out a few times sorts it.

My wire feed stopped working (SIP 180). I found that it was due to corrosion on a connection that supplies the electric to the wire feed motor.

Could be anything from a connection has come loose to the wire feed motor is dead or the controller board has a problem.

It depends on how cheap it is, and how much you like and are comfortable fiddling around with electrics, and how much you like taking a punt.

Well at the moment it's very cheap. Wire feed works occasionally so motor should be ok.

Maybe worth a shot.

Sounds like an intermittent contact or dry soldered joint.

If it's very cheap and (as PTvor says) you're comfortable with electrics then definitely go for it.
I bought my SIP for £50 and have done the wire feed mod, replaced liner and wire, and replaced the earth cable and I feel I know the welder much more than if I'd bought one that "just worked"
So a cheap welder and some elbow grease can yield some good results!
