I have never seen a form of aluminium that would allow flow as such, so I do not understand the question. As far as I can see from the Aegis Ceramics' site (http://www.aegis-ceramics.co.uk/pormet.htm - also two pages linked off this page), you can sinter the bronze to a range of porosities/flow rates (makes sense - golf balls glued together will flow more than garden peas glued together).

The sintered sheet is better for making back up or purge boxes.

If the sheet form is hard to come by, one of the circular filters cut into four quadrants laid adjacent to each other might do the job. If you can find one big enough and cheap enough, an arc segment of it would do. The tfifilters people imply that sintered filters are available in stainless and other more exotic materials, so maybe omit 'bronze' when you are searching.

Already spoke to them waiting for the sample to come but not sure they have the correct spec

Iv found a supplier that will send me a sample of the aluminium so will test that out and see what comes back

Fritted glass is essentially the same structure but in glass, probably just as difficult to find sheets though, and obviously very fragile.

problem is the part it’s for will be shipped world wide

we can’t run the risk of it turning up broken compared to the sintered bronze

I have found a supplier of porous aluminium that’s basically the same thing I just need the tech specs to proceed

yes, I can’t share exactly what is does but it’s to diffuse gas before welding

Tread carefully. You've already got HFT and a danish firm at blows over a purge gas diffuser. There are many patents believe it or not.
