well I know there crap but the drains to my sceptic tank were blocked a 5 minute job normally when u haven't lent them out and not had them returned the ones I use are good quality not rubbish. anyhows wifey had bought a set of silverline ones for some odd reason ohh well il use them started stuffing them down the pipe and got 7 rods in and one of them bent in half in the pipe pulled them out and the rubber end fell off well down in pipe jeesus crist drains backed up with crap and now the plunger stuck in . a major job if they couldn't be removed . went and got my decent ones back fitted the steel screw on the end and forced them in fortunately a big lump of crap including the rubber end came out and went in to the tank and I managed to clear them lesson learnt don't use crap gear on important stuff it will cos t u dearly

it made me feel sick when it happened had to put me hand and arms in the crap . the feeling sick was the thought of digging the drive up a meter down to cut open the pipe . got a scrubbing brush hot soapy water with disinfectant in and gave myself a good scrub clean

if they had done the job I would have been pleasantly surprised there made of thin plastic tubing with badly riveted ends on them and the rubber bung is all rubber including the threads

A couple of years ago the road in our close had to be dug up due to a neighbour having a blocked drain. The workmen showed me the cause - DIY drain rods out of cane held together with plastic tape that had all come apart and bunched up at the point where the house drain joined the main sewer.
