the gauges can be made using brass compression elbows and nylon pipe. that's what I used on steam wallpaper strippers . they stand boiling water for over 6 month before they deteriate and shrink

Just to note. this isn't for fuel tank use. This is purely for use on oil catch tanks as pictured. They look loads cleaner than using brass fittings and PVC piping.

Well, its been a few months, but i now have these billet sight glasses in my possession, my own design. They look trick!

You don't need a Cnc to make a simple part like that. If you were making lots the speed of a cnc would help but for a meer few you could easily make them on a mill or like I say a lathe with a vertical slide.
I made this on my slide and your part is no more complex.

Seriously....he does not use a slide as he has two mills. in fact I don't know anyone who uses a slide.

I reckon it would be invaluable to some...

But it's the same thing pretty much. You have 3 axis and a spiny thing with a tooly thing and you just whip bits off it till it looks something near

I have no idea what a slide is! i know guys with old Bridgeports and lathes the sizes of small estates.

I reached out for 4-5 people about getting these done. only 1 bothered to entertain my requests, the same guy who within 2 days of sending him the drawing, had the prototype in my hand.

I have small parts like these. I have made a few tank parts like caps, funnels, pipe fittings etc and like I say that sight glass part would be easy to make. Let me know if you get stuck. I would quote you for the little bespoke parts.
No point asking me to make stuff you can readily buy cheap.

You dont realise how good your work is. I have actually considered doing some videos myself in the new year.

NOT because I know what I am doing but I reckon I would get a lot of "advice" on how to do things better/correctly.

I do understand it takes time to video and produce even a short footage.

Out of interest (never having milled on a lathe) how long would you expect to spend on producing these, from start to finish?

In all honestly probably a little while on the first one. Until I get my sequences in order. Remember I'm just a beginner with taking metal off. I've spent most of my life putting it on so this is alien to me still. I could make those though in a sensible time for a beginner I'm sure.
