Apart from some paint and a couple of return springs (on order) the shrinker and stretcher is done.
Between jobs I finished the jaw casings they needed a bit of tweeking but got there in the end.
I thought I was going to have to buy a couple of the jaw puller wires but came up trumps when I found one of mothers broken kenwood mixer whisks in the scrap bin, result.
I did try the stretcher out on a couple of offcuts and it works good on the thinner 1mm metal but struggled on 2mm thick steel, so for thin panel work will be ok.
I had a scout round the yard before it got dark and dug out some 6mm plate a good length of 120 by 60mm box and a couple lengths of 60 by 30mm box
that’s going to be the start of a pedestal base for them. I will be looking to see what others have done regarding the top arrangement tonight but should go something like this.
