Shower waste pipe sizing

I have a Mira shower drain trap that has a compression fitting on it, I want to connect a solvent weld pipe to it but it's just a bit too big for the seal to fully fit, what do I need? I've searched but can't find anything.
It's doing me nut in!

You will need a short length of 'normal' waste pipe (push-fit fitting size), then a straight compression to connect to the solvent weld pipe.
Or change the trap?

Solvent weld pipe is pretty thick wall, so sand it down a bit.

This is what I would do.

I was in a similar situation with my 40+ year old shower. I needed a reducer to go from 43mm OD (1 1/4”) to 40mm so I drew one and printed it in PLA. I can report that ABS solvent glue works wonderfully on this and there are no leaks on the PLA part. Reducers are available to buy but I needed one longer than the “stock” product.

I found one by Waters on Amazon but I see it is currently unavailable. Good luck with your search. I tried 4 plumbing merchants near us without any joy.

No the push fit stuff is different again from what I can see and I definitely don't want it under a floor I can't ever reach again, that's why I want solvent weld pipe as much as possible as once it's in place it won't move much.

I have, in this situation and in a hurry, turned a bit of 40mm down in the lathe to make a slim bush that takes up the slack.

Alternatively, you can also heat the 40mm enough to expand it over the push fit stuff and solvent weld it.

Not sure which is the least bodgey of those options.

You just use 40mm solvent weld pipe into the compression fitting, the compression fitting will clamp the solvent weld pipe,
You use compression fittings to get between the different pipes
It maybe tight but it will fit, the seal is a wedge shape, so will seal

I think a lot of the push fit pipe is a pvc/nylon stuff and I don't think can use the solvent on that which may limit your choices

It does fit but it's not a good enough fit for me to leave it under the floor, the nut only goes on a couple of threads.
