sticking a 240V single phase Motor on would be a very, very easy swap. But long term I would give consideration to 3 phase, whether it be 220 or 415, inverters are available for both voltages. I doubt the motor is a Dual voltage one,
Harrison had so many motor options on the 5, 5a, 140, 11". its never easy to tell looking at the lathe, some even have a two speed motor.

yes your right its an old Brooks motor none dual voltage so ile see iff i can get a inverter/motor combo cheap enough as i kinda like the variable speed option it could bring...after further mooching ive found it has T2 tool post and holders so good quality there it seems. do you know what size and pitch the leveling bolts are??? as mine are missing.

if you hang fire I`ll check mine, 99% certain they will be Whitworth, up in the 5/8" area,--the machines went through a change to metric, but my metric 140, many of the bolts, oil nipples, allen bolts, etc are still whitworth- I`ll check Wed for you.

I`ll check the tool post on mine,Dickson think its a 2, it has 75ish mm wide toolholders.

Maybe a bit of surgery to convert it to delta so you cane run it off a VFD? Worth a try, may save you a few bob

as expected the four bolts through the base are indeed Whitworth form thread, a 7/8" X 9, they have a hole right through the middle,9/16" diam and a shoulder under the head.

The tool post is Pratt Burnerd International
Dicksons A111D0001

havent a clue what that equates to, T1,T2,??? havent checked.

Looks tidy. A bit of fettling should get that ship shape. Don't envy you the shed shifting round session though. I started one months ago and still haven't finished it as yet.

This is what we have been doing this morning got a job machining some ali castings for a climax engine. front pulleys and dynamo pulleys.
In the chuck is a front pulley.The lathe is a colchester master 2500 imp/metric

Finaly got the 11" onto the bed and set-up to its final resting place....from the 1st click of the ebay button to picking it up and then cleaning...also the making of the concrete slab ect ect its a massive task so hopefully this will now last me as ime not going through that again :vsad:

the wifes going off her head as i started a porch before christmas and aint finnished that yet amoungst other jobs around the property. Anyway final pic of it in bed

After nearly 2 years of searching for a decently priced M250/300. I picked a nice M300 up yesterday........500mile round trip and 12hrs in a van...

Tail lift was touch and go, but it got there eventually. Will be having a bit of a sort through, it came with loads of stuff still in its original wrapping some of it...Will also be giving it a clean up later....
