Not in my experience.
Here is my latest one.I'll have to disagree with you there. I've never accepted returns on any of my sales. Yet eBay just chooses to ignore that. I've even spoken with them at length about this and you just don't get anywhere.
All it takes is the buyer to claim the item is faulty or not as described. You don't have a let to stand on.
And don't get me started on the product being returned damaged. eBay won't do jack. They can only recommend. They'll say it's between the buyer and seller to come up with a resolution. Not that the buyer gives a flying duck. You just have to swallow it. Hence I shaft eBay with every opportunity I get lol.
I have set returns to 'No' for that reason.

Yep, this. Sure in your case above you were lucky but if they raise it as "not described" then they can both force a return *AND* you have to pay for that return.
The trouble is as well that you get a difference of expectation, sell something as "I turned it on, it appears to work but I haven't tested it further" and you'll get someone say, "function xyz that you didn't say anything about and I didn't ask about but is absolutely critical to what I want it for...didn't work so it's not as described."
I've been put right off ebay now, far too expensive in the fees and far too many opportunities for the buyer to screw over the seller.
Yes, 3 weeks ago i watched a Chester 8" bench top thing go for £ 650 i didnt bid because it was too far south, there must have been £650 worth of extras lathe looked new. The week after a very 2nd hand one came up in the Borders so punted £650 on it ways were rusty and looked like a crack. It went for £750. This weekend a nice one popped up good condition lots of extras popped £ 850 on it and was prepared to drive south to collect.I don't know whether people are just avoiding Ebay or not but there seems to be quite a shortage of stuff for sale these days.
In particular lathes.
Only 1 DSG lathe for sale - searching for Dean smith Grace is no better, Smart and Brown you get almost nothing either.
I wonder if we have now run out of nice old lathes?
I've never got anything to sell when i see those dealsDoes no one not use the £1 selling fees when it’s offered?
it went for £1500! They are £1200 new

Think the trouble is lack of new stock. if you look at the Warco and Chester web sites, there are many items listed as out of stock.Yes, 3 weeks ago i watched a Chester 8" bench top thing go for £ 650 i didnt bid because it was too far south, there must have been £650 worth of extras lathe looked new. I reckon the 2 good ones will be on their own website as " refurbished" or " Ex Demonstration"Think the trouble is lack of new stock. if you look at the Warco and Chester web sites, there are many items listed as out of stock.

I sold something recently that had been listed for at least 18 months, maybe longer. No chance of the £1 fee then.
Returns? Nope, I don't do them and haven't had many problems. Possibly because of what I sell and possibly because it's well described with lots of photos, faults and all, and the condition is understated.
The odd problems I've had I've just refunded them and written it off as a bad job. They also get blocked from bidding on my items again.
