I'm moving on to the bed now. Undid the four bolts it will not budge, Looked though the bolt holes and there looks to be come type of sealant?

I wanted to take the bed off to allow me to move the base. Should i clean it where it is and devise another way to move it?

Had enough now, i can still taste the degreaser and i've ran out of scotchbrite.

On to the next few problems now.

Undid the 4 bolts holding the bed down but it does not budge. Can i separate just the top part of the bed?

How stiff should these switches be? Its very stiff and the handle is just spinning on the bar. Should there be a washer between the metal and switch handle?

The switch is working a little sloppy but it will do for now.

I cant separate it anyway. Going to give the the bed and tray a clean tomorrow. Then may flip it back on its side and sort out raising it a bit.

I've scrubbed and scrubbed then scrubbed some more and still not finished.

Finally got the lathe off the pallet. Will leave it on the gearbox jack until i decide what i will do about raising it.

I got 4 of these from eBay three years ago. Made by Bosch, so good quality. I had to open the holes in the cabinet to, I think, 16mm.

I was lucky to get 4 for about £20, they're silly expensive normally, but these should do you, rated to 900kg apparently. Not as nice as all metal ones, but a good price none-the-less.

They look posh. I was thinking about bolting some box section to the bottom then having the feet bolted to the box. On the jack the lathe is raised by 14.5cm using the left arm on right shoulder technique my elbow is about the same hight as the spindle.
