Lexus LS430 ?

That's about my total budget:
2.5K to buy the car, 500 to get it up to spec, then another 2-3k over the next couple of years on improvements.
Insure it for my sister to drive, then I can sit in the back in the massage seats whilst she chauffeurs me about.

Needs enough boot space for one (preferably two) folding wheelchairs

Mazda 6 then
CX-5 would be better space but dont know if you'll find one at that budget.
After 2008 the rust protection is a lot better.
Still have my 2008 M6 2,5 and no issues at all with it.
I have rust repaired Mazdas up to 2007 that was just off the completely useless rust warranty.

I had a 535d touring.....or was it a 530d Touring....whichever, it was a really good car........towed the caravan as if it wasnt there......I honestly used to forget it was on..........I had some kids revving a corsa at some traffic lights........I left them standing with the caravan on the back....their faces were only bettered by the wifes..........something happened to the gearbox at about 50000 miles, it kept dropping into N when I was stood (automatic) so I asked BMW to have a look.........they wanted £2000 just to investigate......so I sold it to "we buy any car.com"......got 7 grand for a car I paid 23 grand for 4 years earlier (it was a year old).......never bought one since...lease them now

I used to drive a merc s320.
Was very good drive and didn't cost much to maintain.
Over the 3 years I had it, it was about £500 for bits for the not and brakes.
That does not inc tyres. And I did about 30k+ miles on it

Better still, make it an S8, and then every day you can pretend that you are in "Ronin".

And put it on gas for some economy.

Couple years back walking up Canal St in Amsterdam I came across an Audi S8 W12 on silly rims. It certainly shows your age when I thought that was the sexiest thing on the street that day

They're very light: maybe only 5kgs.
It's the size that's an issue, not the weight.

I've owned 2 shoguns: both mk2s.

The only thing which surpassed my love for them, was their love of fuel - I already live with one person with a drink problem.

Other than fixing previous owner broken bits, (door hinge, central locking pump,belt tensioner wrekced) my w140 s320 has been really good.

2+ tonne car with a 100 liter tank though, not the cheapest of cars to run lol
