thats a top job u done there mate i see the hinges at the bottom are facing down is there a reason for this, or is it my eyes im making a set of gates for a friend at the moment there 11ft double gates ie 5.5ft not made a set this big before what size hinge do u use for that size of gate any tips would also be welcome also what paint do u use thanks nige.
Nah, we paint them. Its the worst part of the job, because suddenly something which could be dragged round the shop becomes more delicate than a very delicate thing.
I think painting takes as long, if not longer, than to actually fab them!
Dont we all i wish people would pay extra for powder coating

thanks for the reply i bought some 16mm adj hinges today and a weld on pins to match, im using 60x60mm box for the posts and 30x30mm box for the gate frame do u think this will be ok,also what sort of price should i be paying to have a set of gates powdercoated 11x6ft approx just a thought dont fancy doing all that painting by hand nige.

The posts on the gates i have on this thread are 80 x 80 x 3 box section, concreted in and bolted back to the wall.
