Sharpen Nibbler Punch & Die?

thats a lot of dollar for just the die and punch
i got my nibbler from aldi for £15 and works a treat.
would it be worth pricing up a new unit?

A new nibbler is £250 - £300 depending on there you look!

Punches and dies are supposed to have different clearances according to the material thickness. 15% (of material thickness) for ally 20% for steel and 25% for stainless. If the die is worn and the clearance opened up a bit it'll draw the metal into the punch instead of cutting it.

All fine in theory,but in practice 10% is already on the high side for thin steel plate. I used to make and maintain progressive die cutting and forming tools for heat exchanger fins. 0,9mm steel sheet. Cutting clearance never bigger than 7%. Used to run 100 hours before a resharpen.
