Yep, and it can be even better! If you have no other need for one, the shapers number one reason for being allowed to take up a little room is the ability to be left alone while it rips through the worst rusty piece of scrap you can find and leaves a fantastic finish, all while you get on with something else (just make sure you leave something clangy in the way so it hits the floor just before the table reaches the end of its travel!) you wouldn't trust a mill to do that...
edit, the slightly lined surface on the face the screws are in was because I hand fed the cutter vertically with the piece held at an angle, if I'd held it the other way the shaper would have made a much better finish automatically.
