there as accurate as a mill and so can the finish be .some people obviously have never used one or they wouldnt be saying that. it depends on what tool u are using and how fine a cut and speed u travel atjust remembered the name of one i used at college here it is a butler .a real machine and fast http://www.practicalmachinist.com/v...-manufacture-shapers-planers-slotters-238278/the 1st thing i made on shaper was the base for this on the shaper at 17 years old and the rest on a harrison lathe at college
Technically not all the same, the shafts on spiral bevels gears would intersect if continued forward, hypoid gear shafts do not.Spiral bevel, hypoid, all the same
