Sending 2nd hand tyres by courier??

Why not ask your buyer to make his own arrangements. I always advertise stuff as “ cash and collect” but say that I will pack for the buyers courier after they have used PayPal “ pay a friend” . Protects you from any claim for transit damage and saves the PayPal percentage on an eBay sale.

I've just weighed and measured them ...'fronts' are 65cm dia x 24cm wide and 11kgs each and 'rears' 65cm dia x 27cm wide and 13kgs each. They will take some packing though. I've had one quote of £36 which doesn't sound bad but they need to be shrink wrapped ...can I use the wifes picnic sandwich type wrap I wonder??

Yes, we send roofing squares mounted on a wooden squares and hammers wrapped in clear film. I prefer the black, but it comes on big roles and we really only use that on pallets. My boss has sent tyres with just the delivery label wrapped in clear just to make sure it doesn't come off.

For cheap wrapping, black binbags - cut a bag down both sides for a sheet 1 bag wide x 2 bags long, then use string or any tape you have handy??

I have used Paisley several times, very good, easy to use site, once tried to send something oversize by my usual courier, nooooo too large, booked it through Paisley, guess what courier turned up to collect it, yup, the same driver who refused it the day before....

I have sent all kinds of random and heavy stuff over the years, I find it best to Make a box around it or wrap in think plastic, labels inside and out.
Parcel Monkey is usually cheapest for heavy or big stuff.

Know a farmer ? big bail wrap is like heavy duty cling film

Have Used Lescost transport for strange things from Lathe to aerial combiners & barrel filters

Biggest thing we have shipped in the UK is a Kingsland Ironworker at 2000kg.
Mind you my metal bender comes close to the limit
Pack it right no probs.
Quite proud of my palletising job. Drove all the way to Manchester to collect - then discovered their forklift with the extended jib was all of 4 feet long - now way to get it into the VW crafter. Had to ship it through the network after all - what a waste of a trip.

Thanks everyone...as usual I have a load of 'watchers' on the tyres ....I think I might just let them sort out a courier if they can't collect.

I do get a bit fed up of 'watchers' sometimes they watch for weeks and weeks .....I had 8 of a product and 7 have now sold so I now have 16 people watching the last one ......

Sadly many watchers just use it as a method to bookmark something, if you sell something sort after you get stupid amounts. I had something like 95 watchers on a Suzuki LT50 lids quad in the run up to Xmas one year and I got most of them in the first few hours. The reality is there were 4-5 bidders.

Whenever I get tyres turn up from Blackcircles,Camskill,Tyreleader they always just turn up with some cling wrap around a portion of the tyre, just enough to stick the label on yet when you look at couriers to ship them many won't even do it and most have quite a few rules.
