Sending 2nd hand tyres by courier??

Anyone done this or can offer advice.

I have 4 x 19" very wide (BMW) tyres on Ebay. They are very low mileage as I've gone from runflats to non-runflats. Got someone interested but he wants me to send them from Wirral to Stockton-on-Tees by courier.

Who is best to use and do I have to wrap them (difficult!!!) ...... he will be paying but still need best price as I need them gone.

Any advice who to use gratefully received............

I bought tyres online, they arrived by courier with just a label on them. My son got four and they came wrapped in black clingfilm. Think it depends on which courier you use

ditto for motorbike tyres for me.

Providers will say on their website what is acceptable to them.
Last time i posted wheels most had moved away from allowing just pallet wrap to wanting cardboard
Given their size you might need to look at something like Shiply

I used Paisley Freight / bin bags before for wheels with tyres, one of the very few who do them

For tyres alone, I'd bag each one up and use Hermes at £7 to £9 (assuming they allow tyres)

EDIT - just seen Paisley do 4 x 19" tyres for £36.

take a non refundable deposit and and wait until the 7th until the government make a decision on the non essential travel

I would suggest that's a quarter pallet. Tie them down with nylon webbing and ask @fizzy for a quote on shipping or general advice.

I've used Paisley Freight - smooth as silk with no problems.

Stick then on a pallet we can ship them. Safer than as parcels.
A few times we have had to collect wheels and tyres out of parcel depots as they have collected then refused to send through their networks. Parcel carriers hate ugly freight these days. They want nice square parcels for their conveyors.

Ahh just tyres might be cheaper as parcels but maybe not if very wide.
