looking for a Seiko automatic mens watch........
not really interested in looks but must be unmolested and still water proof.......
I'm doing a lot of pool work at the mo....
anybody got one......
will be in UK in Sept but can be posted early.....
loads on ebay but nothing described as original.....
dont want to pay a lot or I would just buy a new one.....

Check out orient watches, owned by seiko and epson but with their own movement.I think they might have just started importing into the uk but have been available on the grey market.I have a orient ray, worn daily for the last 4(?) years with no problems.They have a very good reputaion of a decent watch at a decent price.

edit, forgeot I also have one of their quartz watches I wear for work and a mako for nice.

A used Seiko Kenetic could be exactly what you need .. cheap Chinese replacement straps and pins for th elinks plus a small bottle of super glue to set the pins in place will help

I have an Omega Seamaster, in orange, awful colour. I hardly ever wear it, it weighs about half kg.

I used to have a Seiko watch, bought many years ago by my dad, but it fell apart after going through a washing machine.

My house clock is Seiko. Bought in Singapore in 1968, and still going strong. Seiko reliability.

So far I'm reasonably pleased with Lorus.
Had one strapped to the bike master cylinder for a couple of years.
Mind you, its dirt cheap (Aldidly Special) predecessor lasted for several years before it went toes up after all that bar vibration. Quite impressive for a cheap thing.

I have always rated Seiko, for 25 + years I wore a Pepsi one, it was my work/everyday watch and it dealt with anything thrown at it.

I retired it about 3 years ago, the only reason for doing so was because, 1 ) the end links were no longer available and 2), the watch case bracelet pin holes had become so worn so watch bracelet kept coming off.

So retired it with reluctance and after a bit of research I settled on this.

I have several watches, have to say this is about the worst one I have ever had.

It loses hours and days by the day or it just stops.

I wear it 24/7, at the time of purchase I had the choice of buying another kinetic, deeply regret not doing so.

This watch has been back for repair several times, Seiko for some reason changed the back from a glass to a metal one this has made no difference to it's rotten time keeping.

It seems to me the issue is not during the day as such but stops when still in bed.

Good timing of this thread, having persevered with a watch I can hardly trust, I had a brand new Pulsar, started wearing that yesterday.

So disappointed with my newish Seiko, which I could get my old Seiko Pepsi back in wearable condition.

I have a Seiko 5 on a nato strap in a drawer somewhere. They are good watches but tend to be small too hence why I never wear mine now preferring a bigger Seiko Sumo if I’m not wearing my daily Garmin Fenix.

Work for a defence company and pull your phone out to check the time and see how long it takes for security to be having a gander at all your pictures !

I have a very battered Seiko, working it out, it’s approaching 40 years old now, I think it was 1986 I bought it, still going well & passes a pressure test when I get a battery fitted. I would miss it terribly if it went wrong or I lost it.
