Iirc, C3 boxes were prone to cracking flex plates. Not unknown for a quick squirt of a mig poked up the inspection cover to fix them. Ford dealer fix, that was.

Probably a silly question but is it firing in the right order ? Does that engine have balance shafts ?

No balance shaft in the Essex V6, only the V4.

you need to get rid of the horrible slushbox, and fit a mans manual box.

yes from a ford zephr executive with overdrive
they are made in fords favourite cast iron and weigh a ton as i once found out
battled with a scimitar for a couple of years
always something to do
