I have a couple of different regs and cylinders all in new condition and with no visible damage that don't always seal correctly when tightenend. Like this:
Not always as much as that mind but still just a faint hiss if you listen carefully. Soapy water test reveals a leak.
I did get another reg to seal OK on this bottle after a couple of tries. I am maybe not tightening enough but still as tight as I dare with the normal sized bottle wrench.
Is there anything that would help to seal this small leak? Such as a light smear of liquid PTFE on the bottle slot before nipping up and leave for a couple hours to set?
I see some Argon regs have an O ring sealed milled on the end of them, that would be a great design I'm sure but problem is I already have 4x recent new regs.
